ABOUT ORJ

Online Research Journals (ORJ) is a renowned international, open access, research journal that publishes outstanding, peer reviewed, multidisciplinary journals to the scientific community. The journals publish by ORJ fall into the open access model. The publication costs of an article are paid from an author's research budget or by their supporting institution in the form of Article Processing Charges. These Article Processing Charges replace subscription charges (in the case of Closed Access research journals) and allow the publisher to make the full-text of every published article freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication, to all interested readers World-wide. Meanwhile, all the journals are subject to high-level peer review, author and production services ensuring quality and reliability of the work. In an open access model, authors retain the copyright to their work, licensing it under a Creative Commons license, with the first publication rights granted to ORJ. In ORJ, decisions to publish are based solely on article quality and editorial criteria. All articles published by our journals are properly archived.

Explanation of key terms

Open Access (OA) is free, permanent, web-based access to research publications. OA is the principle that research should be readily available immediately after publication and to anyone with an internet connection. It is improving the way research information is shared. ORJ provide immediate open access to the content of all its journals on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Benefits of Open Access: OA benefit authors and institutions in a great number of ways. It brings increased readership to published articles and, with that, increased citations to articles. It means that published articles are easily searchable in Google and Google Scholar thereby providing a worldwide academic (and wider public) audience.

Peer Review: All articles (that meet our submission requirement) that are submitted to any of the journals publish by ORJ undergo rigorous and unbias peer review process. Peer Review serves two key functions:

• Acts as a filter: Ensures research is properly verified before being published
• Improves the quality of the research: Rigorous review by other experts helps to hone key points and correct inadvertent errors. ORJ strongly rely on effective blind peer review processes to uphold not only the quality and validity of individual articles, but also the overall integrity of our journals.

All works published by ORJ are under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License. This permits anyone to copy, distribute, transmit and adapt the work provided the original work and source is appropriately cited.

Archiving
ORJ utilise the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of articles published in our journals for purposes of preservation and restoration.
